Got Chocolate?

I needed a few little gifts for some ladies at church today so I dug into my stash of containers and came up with these cute little goodies. These are tiny milk bottles that I filled with chocolate kisses.
I want one of these!
This is a tiny candy jar that I filled with M&Ms.
These all were quick, easy and delicious.....my kind of treat. Diana

Let It Snow

It is definitely winter here in Ohio. All we are missing is snow! I made this sign with the cricut. I cut the images out of white vinyl. I have had really good luck with the durability of vinyl outdoors. Now let's see when we will have our first snow. Diana

Santa Claus Is Coming...

Cloudy day, so forgive the pics. Remember the skull one use soap on this blog? Well these are a much less sinister version for Christmas. I printed the images from Graphics Fairy on water soluble paper.

After I allowed the colors to really "set" on the paper about a week, and a sealing spray of hair spray, I cut them out. Be sure and leave a tab to hold on to! You will cut it off later. Now a few dips in clear glycerin soap and let dry on wax paper. Trim off any errant soap to clean them up.

I put them in clear baggies that I made toppers for. The image on the topper is also from Graphics Fairy!

Again, sorry about the bad lighting, but I hope you get the idea. These will look great in a guest bath or would be perfect for a stocking stuffer. Diana

Kitchen Towel For Christmas

I needed to make a cute but quick gift to stick in a package for Christmas. I love kitchen towels, can never have too many, so I whipped this sweet little treat up in a jiffy. The little stocking looks nice and bright against the white towel.
Here is a close up of the stitching. Now this little towel will make a nice little gift for a friend. Diana

Snowman Napkin Rings

More Felt! This cute little guy is quite useful too. He keeps your holiday napkin nice and tidy. Just roll up the napkin and stick it through the hole....
Here he is without the napkin. Five more and I will have a set to give as a gift. Diana

Tiny Christmas Treat Holders

I have been obsessed with felt recently. And "in the hoop" machine embroidery. These little treat holders couldn't have been more fun! And easy! Definitely my kind of craft! These designs are available from Simple Pleasures Machine Embroidery Designs.
The snowman holds suckers of assorted sizes. I think, with a few snips of my scissors, I could fit a cany cane in them. How cute to pass these out for school mates.
The stocking is sized to hold a small handful of treats, just right for the ladies at church! Since Christmas is fast approaching, it looks like I had better make some more of these! Diana

Cozy Chicken Quilt

I only do about one quilt a year....because they take FOREVER! I have been working on this one for about a week. I adapted a pattern from Fabric Creations.
Chickens are so cute! And these don't make a mess!
Chenille hens on a rag quilt. Warm and cozy!
We even have a few machine embroidery chicks clustered around their mothers. We will be using this quilt at the cabin this winter. Sitting in a rocking chair. In front of the wood burning stove. Mmmmm. Diana

Owl Scissor Holder

Look whooo is my new helper! Now when I am sewing, I'll always have a pair of scissors handy. This owl is all done in machine embroidery. I got the design from Embroidery Garden http://embroiderygarden.com/store/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=120 and it is completely done in the hoop. 14 steps and you have this adorable little holder. Plus it fits 4x4 hoops!
The ribbon allows you to hang it from your neck and is also attached during the embroidery process.
This would make a simple and inexpensive gift for your friends whoooo sew! Diana

Old Saint Nick

I haven't even taken down my Halloween decorations yet, but here is what I was working on today! I took the base from an old speaker stand, filled the screw holes, painted and distressed the base and then applied this picture of Santa with Modge Podge.

The Santa image is from Graphics Fairy. I roughly tore the edges and then inked them with brown ink. I didn't want it to look smooth so I just slapped in on the base, a little wrinkled, leaving the edges unglued so it looks like it is just barely stuck on. I also applied embossing powder to the fur and hat, just like freshly fallen snow. Diana
