Fancy Farm Gal Hat

I saved a bundle today!  I saw a similar hat like the one below at a boutique for $48.00!  Loved it so much I almost bought it.  Then cooler head prevailed. I instead spent $10.00 at my local craft store and got the cutest little hat ever.

Want to make your own?  Get a solid color baseball hat, the flimsier the better.  Take a nail file and rough up the brim.  If you get too carried away you can always hot glue the bits back together.  I used flowers from the bridal section of the craft store and hot glued them on.  So easy, and takes just minutes.  I think I will try a denim one next.  Diana

Chalkboard Tags

These were so easy and I think they would be great on a gift or attached to just about anything (jar of notions?).

Start with thin wood tags from the craft store.  My came in a package of 8.  Spray paint with chalkboard paint on both sides.  Let dry.  Using a white gel pen (made to show up on dark backgrounds) draw simple designs.  Use a heat gun to immediately see the design cure.  Don't hold the heat gun on it too long or it will turn the white to a silver.  Wait until the designs are set and won't smear, then prime the tags with chalk.  Wipe off and you are good to go!

Can you guess what these are used for?  They are cut from vinyl on the cricut.

To apply, cut the water off to the toilet and flush until the water level is at it's lowest.  Dry area you want to put the decal with cloth and then toilet paper.  No water can be on the surface!  Apply decal to the toilet and rub firmly til well attached.  Turn back on water.  Now your little man can FINALLY get his aim down.

Merit Badges From Shinkydink

Grandparent Camp is almost here and I am busy gettting ready.  This year it will be more organized and one of the ideas we will be using is merit badges.These were made with shinkydink paper!  The only thing I would do differently is make them with a color background so the pins wouldn't show through. 

This merit badge will be earned if the kids brush their teeth and shower everyday without being reminded!  Yeah!

I bought bags that I then embroidered a simple initial on for each child.  The badges will be pinned on the bags.  Now they will have their own tote for all our activities and recognition for all the fun things they learned and did at campI wish I had one....... whine.   Diana

His and Hers

I decided little man needed a tie tack, and not just any tie tack-a mustache!  I made these with Shrinky Dink paper.  Simply print a mustache (these were about 4"),

              

                                           

cut them out, shrink them up, and attach a pin with this glue.

 

I couldn't make one for little man without one for his sister.  So I attached hers to hair clips.  These  are so fun and only took about 10 minutes to put together.

Plasti-dip Spoons

Fun way to dress up inexpensive wooden spoons.  Plasti-dip is made to coat tool handles but is totally non-toxic once it is dry.  You can custom mix your own colors too!  I will be dipping everything in this stuff!  Diana
