Apricot Blush Cupcakes
Sometimes you just have to have some butter cream! And when you need a cupcake, YOU NEED A CUPCAKE! I whipped these up from a cake mix (blasphemy I know, but I was in a hurry) and my favorite butter cream recipe.
They are filled with apricot pie filling. This stuff is incredible and available at the Amish Bulk food stores.

Shower Cap
OK, I admit it. Shower caps are ugly. Especially when you put them on. Ugly. But I needed one and HATED the ones at the store. So a quick search on the internet and I had the instructions to make my own. It is lined in a light weight plastic so my hair should stay nice and dry!
It wasn't difficult to make but the applying the elastic wasn't a smooth process. Check out the instructions at http://hoppobumpo.blogspot.com/2008/09/tutorial-make-shower-cap.html I would suggest cutting the elastic a bit shorter. The fit is quite loose. Diana

Vanilla Sugar
My son's ex-wife Carolyn, and the mother of my three wonderful grandsons, gave me this sweet little gift! Among some candies was tucked this jar of homemade vanilla sugar and some herbal teas.
Such a lovely treat. Especially here in the Midwest during this latest round of freezing temperatures.
Ingredients
1 vanilla bean, whole or scraped
2 cups granulated sugar (Carolyn used raw sugar which I think is much prettier)
Directions
If vanilla bean is whole, slice down side of bean with back of knife and scrape seeds into airtight container with the sugar. Bury bean in sugar and seal tightly with lid. Let sit for 1 to 2 weeks. Use as regular, granulated sugar in hot beverages or as sprinkles on baked goods.

Little Fimo Treasures
I have never played with fimo before but, when I found out you could make cute jewelry with it, I had to try it! I ordered some teeny tiny molds from an Etsy seller and loaded up on different colors (I did forget to get basic white and black though). After a few rejects, I got the hang of a few of the shapes. Check them out!
These cute little roses have a lot of detail. You bake them in the mold so they don't lose their crisp edges.
These little Scottie charms have to be cooked out of the mold because I had to put a hole in the top for the metal hook to fit in. I really would like to do a few in black but that will have to wait til I get to the craft store.
