Lazy Days of Summer

Today was so Autumn-like that I began missing those long, wonderful days of summer, (never mind that summer's end is still a long way off yet!!) So I created this card to celebrate those humid, lazy summer days spent on the farm. The barn and tractor image is from MY WORLD cartridge. The sentiment is computer generated. I used cuttlebug embossing folders for both the grass and sky background. Foam tape to layer and brown ink to shade. Makes you want to hop on the John Deere and get some field mowed...not!!! Diana

Thanks a Bunch Card

This was a real quickie card to make. Using walk in My Garden's card option, I cut out the sentiment and background (all welded together for you in the option), then layered flowers and stems. Lots of inking and there you go....ta-da!!! Diana

Owl Notepad Holder

I made this for the BBTB challenge which required using the owl image from Wildcard. All the papers are from DCWV Nana's Kitchen collection. I used my zutter, but to fit the notepad in, I had to but the holes very close to the edge! Diana

Spooky Spider Box

I wanted to do something crafty today but wasn't feeling it! After a few false starts, I grabbed this little box and some orange paint. Then the stamps came out and then the spider punch. I gave it a coat of varnish. A little black ribbon and it's done. Diana

Blanket for Eli

I saw this fleece at Walmart (of all places) and knew it would make a wonderful blanket for Eli this winter!! So easy to cut out but the blanket stitch around the edges took forever! It is pretty large (44x 5o) and will really keep him cozy. Diana

Back to School Card

Bitten by the Bug had a challenge to create a Back to School card using any Cricut image you wanted. That sounded like a lot of fun so...this is what I ended up with. The image is from Hello Kitty. I popped the layers with foam tape and inked the edges to soften it just a bit. Then I went into my paper stash to find the backgrounds which I also inked around the edges. The brads on the right say "play", "fun" and "discover" and were from a discount store! You never know what they will have! The flash on the camera washes the colors out a little but until I figure out the best setting to use, I am happy this isn't blurry!!! Diana

French Country Card

I wanted to use a new chicken/postage stamp I had just gotten for this card and it evolved from that first image. All the edges are inked to age this card. I even inked the buttons to tone down their brightness quite a bit. The ribbon has a bit of sheen to it. All in all, I like the feeling this card has. Diana

Spooky Tree Card

I just made this card today. It started out totally different but, after some cropping, I was able to save the tree from the original (and ugly!!) attempt. It is heat embossed and kind of cool. My technique could use some work but I still like how it came out. Then I heavily inked the edge and kept mounting it til I liked it. Makes me want Fall to get here quick!!! Diana

Magnetic Paper Dolls

I have been working on these for a while now. It takes a bit of time to cut out all the dolls and clothes! I used the paper dolls from Hugbug and printed them on magnetic paper. Next, I hand cut out all the images. Then I decorated candy tins from provocraft to fit each girls personality. I wrapped the edge in cute ribbon. They are going to be Sunday Gifts to two little girls at church! These are only 2 1/4 by 3 3/4 inches big so they are great to bring to church. Diana

Birthday Butterfly

I can't believe Abby turned 8 today!! I made her this card because I know soon she won't like anything this whimsical, she will be so grown up! The butterfly is from Graphically speaking and is layered. The birthday sentiment is stamped and layered too. Diana

Abby's Scripture Tote

Abby is getting new scriptures (if they would hurry up and get here) for her 8th birthday so I made her a tote.
