Here it is applied to the front of the jar.
I printed the recipe and directions for use on the back of the label so I won't lose them!
Here is the detergent. It looks so pretty with the specks of pink and yellow soap. I used one bar of laundry soap, 1/2 bar of Zota, 1 cup Borax and 1 cup Washing Soda. I did grate the soap with my Kitchenaide but the soap was soft so the pieces were kind of long. I then used my machines whisk on the mixture until it had a more uniform size. Maybe next time I will freeze the soap first to make it break off in smaller pieces.
Oh, this is adorable! And they'd make really cute Christmas gifts...fantastic!

Love this idea! I have some of these jars...now I am inspired!
ReplyDeleteSo charming!!! I've seen that recipe in the past but have never gotten around to trying it, I would love to know what results you get with it. 1 to 2 Tablespoons per load is pretty impressive! Thanks so much for linking this up to Brag Monday.
ReplyDeleteThe soap and jar look great together, love your project.
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to make laundry soap too, and I have only seen recipes for the wet stuff. I honestly kept putting it off because I didn't want to put goo in the jar I have like yours. lol. Thanks for the great post and laundry soap recipe! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Diana,
ReplyDeleteI was just on the Graphics Fairy and she has a new post and I thought of you...it's another cute picture that would also work great for your adorable jars...just didn't want you to miss it!
Hugs,
Cindy
Thanks for the heads up Cindy! I love that cute soap graphics. Diana from Closet Crafters
ReplyDeleteVERY cute! Love it. I am having trouble finding the graphic on graphics fairy though. Can you post the link to this graphic? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's Thursday already (here in Australia) and it looks like you posted this on Monday. I'm waiting... waiting... waiting... to hear how the laundry detergent worked! (Very impatient of me, I know.)
ReplyDeleteDo I gather from your silence on the issue that all did not go to plan?
Love the idea by the way- and the jar looks great.
(I came here via the Graphics Fairy- what an excellent fairy she is!)

Wow I'm impressed! I'm curious now how well this works. Sounds way cheaper than the stuff in the store! And cuter too :-)
